FUNCTIONAL GLASS ART AND DICHROIC GLASS JEWELRY DESCRIPTIONS

Glass Dimensions: 2.25” Diameter
Composed of brightly colored dichroic glass with black backing. Colors include green, red, green and purple ripple, magenta ripple, blue, black cherry ripple, bright blue, and purple and black splatter. This piece is opaque, has a shiny finish on the front surface, and the ripple glass is textured to the touch.

Description of construction technique: The various colors were cut into pieces, placed in an overlapping pattern and fired to fuse them together.

Composed of all brightly colored dichroic glass with black backing. Colors include blue, orange and yellow ripple, red, light magenta-blue, magenta ripple, green, purple ripple, and green ripple. Description of construction technique: The various colors were cut into uniform pieces, placed in an overlapping pattern and fired to fuse together.

Composed of brightly colored dichroic glass with black backing. Colors include light orange, teal, green and purple ripple, gold and black splatter pattern, purple, and magenta. This piece is opaque, has a shiny finish on the front surface, and the ripple glass is textured to the touch.

Description of construction technique: Black and clear layers were cut into a frame shape. Pieces of dichroic glass were cut into irregular shapes and laid on top. Then it was all fired to fuse together.

Description of construction technique: Pieces of dichroic glass were cut into triangular shapes and laid on top of each other, then fired to fuse them together. A hole was drilled to accommodate the bail.

Composed of brightly colored blue ripple on clear dichroic glass and iridescent blue glass. This piece is translucent and has a shiny finish on the front surface.

Description of construction technique: The various colors were cut into the general shape of the desired design and kiln-fired together. After fusing, the resulting single piece was cut with a glass saw to create the interior design. The piece was then fired again to soften and shine the saw-cut edges. A hole was drilled to accommodate the bail.

Stars appear as tiny blue sparkly flecks on a deep blue background glass. Composed of bright silver ripple dichroic with blue streaks, fused onto deep blue glass that has brilliant tiny light blue flecks that particularly sparkle with movement of the glass. This piece is opaque, has a shiny finish on the front surface, and the ripple glass is textured to the touch.

Composed of magenta dichroic, black, and iridescent white glass. This piece is opaque and has both shiny and matte finishes on the front surface. Bowl is food-safe, but dichroic and iridescent surfaces may be scratched by metal utensils, so wooden or plastic utensils are recommended. This piece is opaque and has a shiny finish on the front surface.

Description of construction technique: Pieces of glass are cut and placed next to each other and on top on each other, then kiln-fired or fused together. The bowl is then “slumped” or melted into a mold that gives it the shape of a shallow bowl.

Composed of black glass with a patterned turquoise dichroic glass trim. This piece is opaque and has a shiny finish on the front surface.

Description of construction technique: A black and a clear layer of glass are cut in the shape of the holder, with a smaller piece of Dichroic glass cut and layered on top, then fired and fused all together. The single piece with its design is then “slumped” or melted over a mold that gives it the shape of a business card holder.

Composed of magenta ripple dichroic glass with a black backing, a smaller diamond-shaped solid color magenta dichroic glass and a piece of clear glass trim to cover in the center. This piece is opaque, has a shiny finish on the front surface, and the ripple glass is textured to the touch.   

Description of construction technique: The magenta ripple was cut in the shape of a diamond. A smaller diamond shape was cut out of both a solid-color magenta dichroic glass and out of clear glass. The three were stacked and fired, the clear piece being top-most.
